Plans are well underway for the 2007 Dairy Judging Conference to be held at the
Fairgrounds in Cobden, Ontario. Renfrew County Holstein Club has taken on the responsibility of organizing this year’s education event. This is the only date for a judging conference in Eastern Ontario in 2007 so all dairy enthusiasts are encouraged to attend.
The day is organized annually with the purpose of educating breeders, 4-H’ers and all individuals interested in learning about judging techniques, proper conformation, showmanship and breed trends. You will not be required to give reasons unless you wish to do so. However, only those people who agree to give reasons at the time of registration will have a five year summary of the results maintained. The committee has also arranged a Showmanship Judging Clinic to be included in the program.
Coaches of 4-H Judging Teams, who plan to compete at the 2007 Inter-County Dairy Judging Competition to be held at the Specerville Fairgrounds on July 31st are encouraged to participate with their teams. Counties that have at least two (2) or four (4) 4-H members register attendance at this judging conference will have one or two team registrations paid for by the Ontario Joint Dairy Breeds.
There will be a registration fee of $10 for everyone over the age of 21 to help offset organizational costs. Lunch can be ordered at the time of registration and drinks will be available throughout the day. The conference will run from 9:30 a.m. sharp to approximately 3:30 p.m.
