  • Feast Of Fields 2000

The Ottawa Chapter of the Canadian Organic Growers is sponsoring Ottawa Feast of Fields on Sunday September 10 on the beautiful grounds at the Mill of Kintail at Almonte.

The event teams up organic growers and restaurants that promote the reasons for choosing organic food and supporting local agriculture. This year the chefs and organic growers will be strewn throughout the grounds of the Mill property. Patrons who have purchased entry tickets can wander the grounds sampling product, learning about organically grown food and enjoy a great time.

This year the event will have an organic marketplace and exhibit area. This will be used to educate and promote the use of organically grown food.

The Canadian Organic Growers is a serious promoter of organic farming and sustainable agriculture. All foodstuffs used must be organic to the best of your ability. The organizing committee plans to supply the restaurateurs with products that are available at the time from organic farmers and retailers. Farmers are invited to introduce themselves to the chefs by telephone to discuss a partnership possibility.

Tickets for the event are available at various outlets and organic distributors. Adult tickets cost $35 and tickets for children are $15.

More information on the project is available from Debbie DeComman at 613-448-3540 e-mail debbied@magma.ca.
