  • Master Gardener Program hotlines and webpages

The Master Gardener Program continue to grow across Ontario with 38 organizations actively assisting the home gardener to get answers to their questions. Some of the groups have expanded into hotlines and webpages to help clients find information readily and quickly.

In the east Ottawa Carleton has a hotline at 613-239-0034 Wednesday and Thursday 1 to 3 pm. Peterborough operates a hotline May to October at 705-741-4905.

For those who want to talk directly to a Master Gardener you can contact the provincial administrator Wendy Chrystian at 1-800-298-4809 who will refer you to the closest person in your area.

The Master Gardeners of Ontario Inc. has a webpage at www.interlog.com/~onthort/mg/mg.html where information is updated regularly. Master Gardeners are qualified, experienced, trained volunteers who enjoy helping others become successful gardeners. Most groups across the province meet monthly and meetings usually include an educational component in the form of presentations by members, guest speakers, or videos.
