    The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs and Kemptville College of the University of Guelph are hosting a Crop Diagnostic Day on Tuesday July 18, 2000 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at the A M Barr Arena on the Kemptville College Campus.

    The day is designed to specifically to improve the problem solving skills of feed, fertilizer and chemical industry personnel as well as agricultural consultants. Growers are also invited to participate to up date their identification skills and knowledge on weeds, diseases and insects.

    The program is planned as a hand on experience where agriculturalists can hone their trouble shooting skills and evaluate new and alternative management strategies. The day will highlight current topics of interest in herbicides, insect and disease injury symptoms. All participants will receive an reference package containing various resources on the topics of fertility, insect, weed, disease and general crop problems. The program is also part of the Certified Crop Advisor Credit Program.

    The day costs $40 and pre registration is required by Friday July 7, 2000. Cheques must accompany the registration form and make them payable to the Eastern Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association. Registration forms are available at the Kemptville Resource Centre or on the OMAFRA webpage at under the Crops, Conferences and Meetings sections at: www.gov.on.ca/OMAFRA/english/crops/conferences/jul18eocdd.htm. After July 7 the cost will be $60 per person.
