CARP - It was quite a day for Pembroke’s Jane Behnke here Sat., June 24.
She was named Grand Champion Showperson at the third annual Strawfest Beef Debut on the fairgrounds here and judge Phil Trowbridge of Ghent, NY, also named her champion Simmental Flo-Lar Sheeza Dandy as the Grand Champion Female in the eight-breed show.
Jane also showed the top Shorthorn, Strathar Knickerbocker, and the top Hereford, Elmlodge Jessica.
The following are the results of each breed in the June 24 show, which attracted close to 200 young exhibitors from all points of the compass.

There was enough heavy metal on teh fairgrounds tro cause them to tip as Strawfest played hosst to the second annual Carp Valley Show and Shine.
Big rigs polished to a brilliant finish reflected the bright sunshine of the first nice Saturday of the season and crowds of curious onlookers filled the centre portion of the grounds to get a close-up look at these kings of the highway.
