REGINA - Lyle Vanclief, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, has announced the appointment of Trenton’s Rosemary Davis as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Farm Credit Corporation (FCC), for a three-year term.
He made the announcement here June 23.
Davis has served on FCC’s Board of Directors since December 1995, most recently as a member of the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. She is owner/operator of Tri-County Agromart, a retail and wholesale fertilizer plant, farm supply, feed store and garden centre in Trenton.
"Rosemary Davis has already made a valuable contribution to the sound governance and strategic direction of FCC as a member of the Board of Directors," Vanclief said. "Her dedication and commitment to the long-term success of agriculture will continue to be an asset in helping FCC to serve the rapidly changing industry."
Davis is actively involved in serving the agricultural industry through the following organizations:
• Chair of the Agriculture Committee on the Board of the Trenval Development Corporation;
• Fertilizer Institution of Ontario‚s Fertilizer Use Committee;
• Ontario Federation of Agriculture;
• Soil and Crop Associations of Northumberland, Hastings and Prince Edward;
• Northumberland Apple Growers Association; and
• Board of Directors, Loyalist College.
FCC’s Board of Directors comprises 12 members, including the
chairperson and president and CEO. The chairperson is appointed by the Governor in Council and the remaining 10 directors by the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. FCC’s directors are leaders in the agricultural and financial industries, bringing a wealth of diverse experience and backgrounds from rural and small urban centres across Canada. They are recognized for their commitment to agriculture and community.
