Precision Planting has announced details on the 2011 Summer Corn Conference. This event is the premier gathering of high-yield corn producers. Growers and agronomists from the U.S. and Canada will attend for hands-on demonstrations and analysis of the latest technology and resources for corn production. Attendees pick from one of the five available days to attend: July 25, 26, 27, 28 or 29, 2011.
The Precision Planting Conferences have become known for their unique formats and practical, hands-on sessions. The conference is a "field day". Participants will be out in the field evaluating the yield loss from mismanaged planters. They will be in the field evaluating spacing errors. They will observe planting performance in the field watching how planter monitors can help growers identify planter problems. The "root pit", a staple of the conference, shows actual root development of corn plants in different tillage and planting conditions. All of these sessions are developed to give each grower profit boosting ideas they can take back to their own operation.
New plans for 2011 include a comparison of the impact of tractor tire compaction on corn yield, and enhanced row spacing demonstrations with 30", 20" and twin row corn from 30,000 to 60,000 plant populations. There will be corn available to evaluate at every stage of the growing cycle.
The progress of the conference field plots and event preparations will be previewed on the Precision Planting Facebook page. Growers and attendees will be able to follow preparations and catch the latest developments on Facebook leading up to and during the event.
The Precision Planting Summer Corn Conference is free to growers; however, reservations are required. You can make reservations by contacting a local Precision Planting Representative, or you can make direct inquiries to Precision Planting online at www.precisionplanting.com or by phoning 309-925-5050.
