Brinston’s AGHS provides advanced storage solutions

When Gord and Pat Deroos of Roosdale Farms/Elevators Ltd. realized they needed a grain storage system that would better serve the needs of their clients, considerably cut back on hold-up times during harvest season, and address the ever pressing requirement for storage, they turned to Brinston’s Advanced Grain Handling Systems Inc. (AGHS).

Based in Addison, Ontario the owners were evaluating solutions that would allow them to store a minimum of 360,000 bushels (9,000 tons) to address their current needs. Proactively thinking ahead by considering the company’s future expansion, they opted for a 480,000 bushels (13,000 tons) solution.

Gord, along with AGHS sales manager Mike Allard and general manager Peter Patenaude, had a hard look at the application and came up with a solution from Brock™ Grain Systems. The solution to the Roosdale Elevators translates into a 90-ft diameter by 32-ring (approx. 105-ft high) commercial storage bin. This will make it one of the largest storage bins installed in Eastern Ontario. The construction of this monster is scheduled to start in the spring of 2011.
